Jaime Nevin struggles with her identity as much as any sixteen-year-old girl. Well, maybe a little more. Jaime just discovered that she is not human—at least not exactly. The child of a doomed union between a noble of the Unseelie Court and a Seelie Fae, Jaime has been raised by her mother hidden away from both courts in a small New England town.
Troubled by vivid dreams when asleep and plagued by paralyzing headaches when awake, Jaime knows something is wrong. After the strange disappearance of her mother, and the unexpected appearance of family she never knew, Jaime is forced to accept a truth about her past that puts her future at risk.
To make matters worse, while she works to determine who to trust, Jaime’s best friend Allie keeps a powerful secret from her.
Thrown into a world she doesn’t understand, Jaime must use her fledgling powers in a fight to stay alive and avoid capture by the Keeper, a soulless creature that frightens even the things that go bump in the night.

I convinced my 13 year old daughter to read Between Worlds as her "second book" this summer ... one book was assigned and they could read any other book of their choosing to do a report on. At 11:30 this morning I finally woke her up and said 'jeez, how late did you stay up last night?' and she said, 'well I was just going to read one chapter and when it was over I was like "WHAT?" so I read another chapter and I was, like, I CAN'T put this down NOW! and so I read another chapter and then I really really wanted to keep reading but I was SO tired!"LOL. This is a kid that hates to read because books are 'boring'. Nice Job Amanda, nice job!! We both can't wait for the next one.

Between Worlds Rite of Passage Trilogy Book 1 eBook Amanda Zabski Reviews
I loved the book great reading keeping me wanting more. Although I cannot seem the second or third book which is very unfair to not see how this story goes.
It was a little bit young for me, but It was very well written and surprisingly suspenseful. I was on the edge of my seet a few times. I enjoyed the way she wrote the story from 2 angles with simultaneous stories. It was a fun read and am looking forward to the next book.
This is a great first book in the series! The characters are easy to like and relate to. They discover there is more to the world they have always known. I really like Allie's purpose and can't wait to see where her character goes in the next book. Same with Jamie but I feel like she is less accepting of the world she belongs to now so I seeam excited to see where her character goes next and how she deals with her powers. This is a great read, and really gives readers a visual of what Faery is like.
The story is veryinteresting, and pulls you in from the start. I was a little disappointed by the ending, but look forward to reading more of the story. The second book was supposed to be out already, so not sure if there will be another book? It was a very good start to a series. I hope the second one is coming soon?
I reviewed this book with a friend for my blog, redheadsread.com, and WE LOVED IT!!
The writing was beautifully descriptive, the characters full and genuine, and the plot absolutely driven!! It was a fast read that can be enjoyed by any age group as it has no cursing or sex, a rarity for even Young Adult books these days. That's not to say that there is anything lacking, though...the book kept me checking the locks on my doors and peeking through my blinds at ungodly hours while I was reading! I'm literally on the edge of my seat for book 2 in the series!! This is an amazing debut for Amanda Zabski!!
I really enjoyed the storyline, the characters were likeable, my only complaint is I could not find book 2 anywhere on .The author blogged that book 2 would be out in 2012,,, well this is 2014.Was it a miss print, or was it a mistake.I would like to continue reading the series because it ended on a cliffhanger.
This author has a great knack for describing scenes and characters that are believable and vivid. I was sucked into the story right away. The author also was able to tell the story of 2 main characters individually and then together comfortably. This is a story about fairies and 2 girls who suddenly are not who they think they are, or how they are connected beyond friendship.
